Texas lawmakers to consider unprecedented anti-gay marriage bill
The Republican-dominate, Texas House of Representatives, are scheduled to look over and consider HB 4105, which is known as the Preservation of Sovereignty and Marriage Act. If this act is passes, the legislation will prohibit state or local government employees form recognizing, granting, or enforce same-sex marriages. It will prohibit "an activity that includes the licensing or support of a same-sec marriage". This is bill is one of 20 measures that have been introduced this season in Texas that LGBT rights. There has been many attempts to enforce discrimination against gay and transgender people into the state law.
This is no the first time This is not the first time lawmakers in the US have done this, many have and especially in the South. Lawmakers in the South have "armed themselves" on the advancements of the equality for LGBT. Many LGBT advocates are hoping big businesses to come out and support and put pressure on the lawmakers to drop the bill all together. Similar things are happening in other states and the LGBT community are hoping to stop it and move together and rise above it all.
I think this is disgusting a to be completely honest. People should just let people do, be whatever they want to do/be. This is none of their business, and there should not even be bill against LGBT people. They should all be treated equal because in reality, we are all the same underneath and we are all humans. I just hope these bill get rejected and the LGBT community rises and show the lawmakers they can not be stopped.
